Massage Therapy at Omni Wellness
Massage is the manipulation of both superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various hands-on techniques, in order to enhance their function, aid in the healing process, reduce stress and tension, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability, and promote relaxation and well-being.
Massage therapists deal with muscular and joint issues. Most conditions involving these issues will respond positively from the decrease in tension and reduction in inflammation achieved by a massage session. Patients also report an immediate reduction of the associated pain.
Conditions frequently helped by massage therapy include:
back pain
neck pain
hip and leg pain
post surgical recovery from hip replacements and spinal surgeries
TMJ disorders (problems with the jaw joint)
carpal tunnel syndrome
rotator cuff injuries
plantar fasciitis
headaches caused by tension
reducing stress

Stephen Macquignon, LMT
Stephen has been practicing massage therapy for 25 years, treating a very diverse range of people and conditions. His work as a painter and illustrator has helped to give me hands that are creative, technical and healing. Stephen merges many techniques into a style that is intuitive and practical. He always brings ease and movement to the whole body while also focusing specifically on stuck and painful areas. Everyone has a different fingerprint and in the entirety of my practice no two clients have been alike. My deep listening, responsiveness and an array of techniques have meant that in 28 years, no two treatments have been same.
Modalities: joint mobilization, deep tissue flow massage, compression
